Flooring installation in Charlotte

Flooring is priced by the square foot after we measure, because the room, the subfloor and what is coming up first all change the number — so there is no honest flat rate to quote here. Measuring and the quote are free. The price covers lifting the old floor, prepping the subfloor, the install, trim and transitions, and taking the old material away. We can supply the flooring too, or fit what you have bought.

Click-together floors look simple until you meet the doorways, the transitions and a subfloor that is not flat. We lift what is there, sort out the floor underneath, and lay the new one so the seams line up and the edges look deliberate. The old flooring leaves with us.

How it works

What to expect

  1. 1

    Measure and quote

We come out, measure the space, look at what is under the existing floor, and give you a written price. Free, and no obligation.

  2. 2

    Choose the flooring

Buy it yourself if you would rather pick it in person, or tell us the look and the budget and we will source it and price it into the quote. Either way we will tell you how it installs and roughly how much you need.

  3. 3

    Out with the old

The existing floor comes up, the subfloor gets cleaned and checked, and anything that would telegraph through gets dealt with before a plank goes down.

  4. 4

    Laid and finished

Planks cut in around the awkward bits, transitions at the thresholds, trim back on, and the offcuts and packaging leave with us.

Questions

Straight answers

How much does flooring installation cost in Charlotte?
It is priced per square foot, and the rate depends on the room, the subfloor and what has to come up first — so we measure before quoting rather than give you a number that changes later. The measure and the quote are free. Unlike our smaller jobs, this is not one we can price instantly online.
Do you supply the flooring?
We can, or you can. Some people would rather see the planks in person and buy their own — bring it and we will fit it. Otherwise tell us the look and the budget and we will source it and include the material in the quote.
Can you lay a new floor over the old one?
Sometimes, and it is worth asking — it saves the tear-out. It depends on what is down there, how flat it is and what the new floor needs underneath. We will tell you honestly which way is better for your floor rather than which is quicker for us.
What about the baseboards and doors?
Trim comes off and goes back on, and transitions are finished at every threshold. If a door now catches on the new floor, we will trim it while we are there.
How long does a room take?
Most single rooms are a day. It depends on the square footage, how much is coming up first and how many doorways and cabinet runs we have to cut around — we will give you a realistic timeframe with the quote.
